THE BOAT

The boat - Lazy Bones MM

We are undertaking our adventure on board Lazy Bones MM - a 2009 Lagoon 420 catamaran.

Megan has always liked the look & feel of Lagoon catamarans, and after an extensive 6 week search of the Caribbean, we locked in on Lazy Bones.  Unfortunately, there was already one Lazy Bones registered in Australia, so rather than go "Lazy Bones II", we decided on Lazy Bones MM (one million in roman numerals, but also our initials!).

Lazy Bones is a three cabin "owner" version - the port side is dedicated to us with a queen size bed aft and large bathroom with standup shower forward.

We upgraded a number of items on board pre & post purchase, including new batteries (6 210Ah Lifeline AGMs), a Victron battery monitor & new solar panels on a dedicated platform flush with the bimini (two 200w 24volt panels, in addition to the two 120w 12volt panels mounted on the bimini), a new jib (Quantum), new C90W Raymarine chart-plotter and new running rigging.

Writing this two months in, we are loving our new home!
